Political values and value orientations in an intergenerational comparison of generations X and Y

The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of political values within the intergenerational comparison of generation X and generation Y. It is divided into three sections. In the first section, it introduces the reader to the theoretical concepts of generations, values and the shift of values across generations. Within the framework of generations, it deals with their definition and subsequently also with the issue of defining individual generations. Then it focuses on defining generation X and generation Y. As for values, it pays attention to politics as a value and then defines the concepts of freedom, equality, justice and participation. It also focuses on value orientations in politics and how political culture affects politics in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, it deals with the shift in the values of generations, where it also presents current knowledge in the researched area. In the second part, it presents the methodology of the research, which is carried out using a quantitative method as a secondary analysis of EVS data from 1999 and 2017. Research questions, hypotheses are presented here, and the work with the data is described. In the third part, it introduces the reader to the results of the analysis and answers the research questions.
Value orientations in adolescence and early adulthood

This work handles a topic of values and value orientations. We treat values as one of the issues on a broader field of motivation. From this point of view we placed values in a motivation system pattern. We deal with a more general characteristics of motivation just in order to understand a topic of values. The values and value orientations are elaborated with the help of a number of psychological theories. We are concerned with a developmental traits of values especially in adolescence and early adulthood. The theoretical part is followed on by a concept of psychological research - qualitative and quantitative. The purpose of this project is to get a basic understanding of value orientations among teenagers and young adults and to estimate their moral values and motivation. Analyzing the Election Campaign in the Hlučín Region

This thesis deals with the question of whether and how specific value patterns and historical influences are taken into account in political communication and in the election campaign in the historical Hlučín region. It identifies the basic features of the Hlučín population, their manifestations in the present and also the historical development that preceded them. The values that make the Hlučín region a specific region are, among others, diligence, conservatism, the strong position of the church, ties to Germany and Poland, the character of the border region, a unique dialect and a sense of order. The research itself consists of a questionnaire survey in electronic form among members of political parties active in the historic region, as well as an analysis of election materials available in the press (printed and online through the Monitora interface), on the Internet and social networks, or provided by the parties themselves. The principle of adapting the political campaign utilizes the model of political marketing, especially the model of Lees-Marshment. Nonmarital and marital fertility in the Czech Republic and from international perspective. Trends, patterns and attitudes. Abstract The aim of this master thesis is to describe the development trends of marital and nonmarital fertility in the Czech Republic and to analyze selected indicators of fertility. As tools are used to certain methods of demographic analysis. The first part addressis the basic concepts related to the issue of marital and nonmarital fertility, data sources and a description of the historical development of nonmartial fertility. The analytical part include basic analysis of fertility by age, marital status, education, birth order and the decomposition of the total fertility rate and proportion of childern born outsider marriage in the Czech Republic and Austria too. Life values of the Czech society using Schwartz Value Inventory

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of measuring society-wide values according to the theory and method designed by Shalom Schwartz. The concept of values and its place in sociology is introduced, the development of Schwartz' theory and method is outlined and its varieties presented. Using the Portrait Value Survey Method, which is based on the data from the European Social Survey, the values of the Czech society are measured. This is carried out by the means of correlation and regression analyses of ten basic values with chosen descriptive variables - age, gender, education and political orientation. The results of the study does not show any significant deviations from the anticipated outcome, the values are quite traditional especially in connection with the gender and age differentiation. The values of individuals change in time and are dependent on the above mentioned factors.
